He has entered the industry of localization and translation since 1997, focusing primarily on software internationalization, localization and translation project management, quality control, and translation talent development.

In 1997, He joined Beyondsoft, working in the localization department. He participated in the localization program of Microsoft Windows 98 Simplified Chinese Version and worked at Microsoft China for one year. He then served as a project manager and was responsible for the localization projects of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Simplified Chinese versions. Liu worked at Beyondsoft for over 12 years and was fully responsible for the company’s localization business since 2005, during which he established solid partnerships with strategic clients such as Adobe, Autodesk, Canon, IBM, HP, Microsoft, SAP, SUN, Symantec, etc and was highly recognized by clients in ensuring the success of their products in the Chinese market.

In 2009, Liu joined Glodom as the Deputy General Manager, mainly responsible for project operations and resource allocation. Glodom has been recognized by CSA Research as one of the Top 100 Largest language services providers globally for 10 consecutive years. With the progressive development of AI, Glodom has been keeping a close eye on the advancements in machine translation engine technology, Automatic Speech Recognition, and OCR since 2019. They have conducted comprehensive research on how human translators can leverage machine translation outputs and have developed a series of great practices in this regard.

I will then delve into the specific applications of these technologies in translation services, including accelerating translation speed and improving quality, optimizing terminology consistency and contextual accuracy, promoting the sharing and reuse of language resources, and assisting translators in engaging in more creative and value-added work.

    Furthermore, the presentation will demonstrate the auxiliary functions provided by Generative AI for translation services, such as translation memory, terminology management, and automatic proofreading tools, and explore new modes of collaboration between AI and translators.

    Lastly, I will discuss the challenges and opportunities of applying Generative AI in translation services, including issues related to data privacy, terminology consistency, and cultural sensitivity. I will also provide insights into the innovative trends shaping the future of translation services and offer feasible strategies and suggestions for practitioners.
